It is a love story of a fabulous forest tsarevna Mavka and a peasant Lukash. The guy betrays their feeling for his benefit, and because of this the supreme forces take away one his true gift – the ability to play music fairly. Mavka feels pity for her lover, who is nervous because of this, that’s why she gives him back the skills, having paid for that by her life.
