Ukrainian cinema doesn't produce movies often. However this time Maksim Stetskov releases The Deadly Alive. It can be called a landmark movie as it is the first psychological thriller produced by the Ukrainian film studio and it worths attention of the fans of such genre. Starring Aleksandr Gereles and Victoria Varley. Though the movie's budget is quite modest ($15 000), it is at a decent level.

When the viewers start watching the movie Deadly alive, they get acquainted with the main character named Semen. Semyon lives a full life: he writes novels, fells in love, gets married, and in general, he's an ordinary happy man except for one strange thing. During the last three years, he has been receiving the messages contained a prediction of the future events which could be ignored if they didn't come true. The predictions are different presaging joy and sorrow. Semyon accepted the situation, moreover, he failed in searching of a secret subscriber though he tried hard. Will Semyon be able to outrun his destiny or will he accept his fate? The viewers will find out the answers after watching the movie The Deadly alive.

The movie isn't full of special effects due to the limited budget but that's not a compulsory thing for the real thriller of high quality as acting is the backbone of such movies, and it is great in this movie. It has a sophisticated plot leading to an unexpected end. This is the first serious work of Maksim Stetskov, and it can be said that the debut turned out to be quite successful.
