In 1940, a former boxing champion from Warsaw arrives at Auschwitz on the death train. Tadeusz Pietrzykowski, nicknamed Teddy, entertains the officers by fighting other prisoners in the ring. In each fight, only the winner survives. Soon, the prisoners' growing resistance to the camp authorities turns into a real confrontation.
