Early XX century. Ireland is in revolt. Workers and peasants struggle for independence from British units ordered to quell a rebellion. A successful doctor, Damien leaves, his successful career and together with his brother Teddy enters a brutal fight for freedom, led by a sense of duty and love for his homeland. After the first victories of the rebels the British authorities come to the conclusion that the bloodshed must be stopped. But the country faces a new challenge – the civil war, when brothers, who have been recently fighting side by side, find themselves on opposite sides.
