The film is based on a true story of Frank Sinatra’s scandalous visit to Australia in 1974. The local press turned against him, while Sinatra called them dull beggars in return. Australian trade unions declared him a boycott. Sinatra was practically under house arrest, staying in his hotel room without water and usual comfortabilities. He couldn’t leave Australia, as there was not enough patrol for his plane. Everyone was waiting for a public apology from him. But there were two things Frank had never done in his life: he would not yawn in the presence of a woman he loved and he would never apologize to anyone. Sinatra’s story is shown through the eyes of a young manager, who had the opportunity to work with the singer. He convinced Frank that he would be able to win the hearts of Australian audience, and he was right. Both men realized they were in love. The young manager love was always beside him, and Sinatra confessed to Barbara Marks, who later became his last wife. Scandalous Sinatra tour in Australia hit the news around the world. President Nixon said: “I would be happy if this story never ended, to divert the public attention from my personality.”
