A middle school teacher Lance Clayton always dreamed of becoming a rich and famous writer, but this has not happened. He still teaches poetry to youngsters. An art teacher Claire, with whom he dates, not only avoids a serious relationship, but also hides their romance. His son Kyle doesn't respect his father.
