This story about a boy named Alyosha, who grew in a circus troupe at the beginning of the century. With the death of his mother, acrobat Marie-Louise, his childhood was over. Revolutionary events have influenced the fate of a little circus, and the boy was left alone. But when he meets the Bolshevik Stepan Ratushny he proceeds performing in the circus.
