This is a biographical movie about early years of the philosopher and writer Alexander Herzen. His father comes from an ancient Russian family, and his mother was a common German woman. As the illegitimate son he didn’t take his father’s surname Yakovlev. He was interested in the ideas of freedom that was close to revolutionary ideals.
