Astronomer Madeline learns that a meteor shower will be visible in the sky over a small town just before Christmas. She sets out to witness her discovery. Along the way, she gets a flat tire, and Madeline meets a charming ranger named Ryan. She explains to her new acquaintance that in order to see the starry sky, the town residents must briefly turn off all the Christmas lights.
