In the first leg of the Youth Champions Path semifinal, the top teams from the Ukrainian and Bosnian U19 championships of the 2022/23 season will face off in Poland. In the previous edition of the UEFA Youth League, the Lviv team made it to the Round of 16 but were defeated by Milan in Italy due to a goal scored in the eighty-fifth minute, resulting in a 0-1 loss. The youth team of the maroon-and-white prepares for their debut in the tournament.

Watch the online clash between Rukh Lviv and Sarajevo; these opponents will meet in the competition for the first time. The yellow-black team earned their place in the competition last year by winning their domestic championship. The Ukrainian club also started in the semifinals bracket, which includes the champions of the national leagues. They first defeated Polish side Zagłębie (1-0, 0-0), and in the next round, they overcame Galatasaray (3-1, 3-1). In the Round of 16, the Lviv team disappointed Internazionale (1-1, 4-3 on penalties), but later, Milan took revenge for their compatriots.

In the domestic youth league, Rukh currently rank third after nine rounds, losing their leadership after the last two matches. The yellow-black team have scored twenty-two goals and ranks second in terms of goal-scoring, trailing only their peers from Dynamo Kyiv. Maksym Boiko and Kvas have each scored three times. Sarajevo are the fifth Bosnian club to compete in the UEFA Youth League. In the two previous seasons, debutants represented the country. In the 2015/16 and 2017/18 campaigns, Zeljeznicar U19 participated in the competition. In the first case, the blue team was eliminated immediately, but two years later, they reached the Round of 16.

In the 2016/17 and 2019/20 tournaments, the honor was delegated to Zrinjski, and in their second appearance, the aristocrats made it past the first round.
