The film is a vivid illustration of how parents sometimes put pressure on children. The main character is not lucky to be born in a family of chemists, who believe that his son's future is uniquely related to chemistry. It’s rather eccentric to give his son the name of Vanadium and to find him a bride named Selena. But Vanadium finds the strength to resist the pressure of the family and does everything to become an artist of music hall. But if he succeeds, could parents accept his choice?
