People of the small Italian island of Lampedusa, located in the Mediterranean near Sicily, welcome tourists, go on a boat tours and feel themselves as members of the entertain industry. But the flow of illegal immigrants from Africa throws the island’s people into a dilemma. Since ancient times they have been helping people dying in the sea and now they are to decide whether to follow their principle and laws of sometimes oppressive state or principle of mercy and moral. By law, fishermen are required to report the incident to the authorities and immigrants would be extradited back to Africa. Sicilian fishermen got used to help people in need and can’t let women and children suffer because of them. Family members face a difficult dilemma.
