Yukio Mishima is considered to be one of the most important Japanese writers of the postwar period. He has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for three times. On the 25th of November 1970, along with four companions Mishima believes that Japanese society has lost the faith and traditions of samurai, and decides to take hostage the commander of Army forces to encourage soldiers to overthrow the state system.
