The main hero of the movie is a criminal investigation officer who is forced to become a part of the criminal world in order to bring to light one of the Moscow Mafiosi, nicknamed Shtemp. However, he finds out that one of his leaders is closely connected with the mafia. Ershov makes a decision to go on the run, not to risk his life.
