Amangeldy Imanov is known in Kazakhstan as a fighter for justice. Seeing the oppression of the poor Kazakhs by the rich, he could not stand aside and was the first to revolt against the oppressors. He became the head of the Central Asian revolution in 1916, and later fought on the side of Soviet power and was appointed the first military commissioner.
