In the turbulent winter of 1918, the four-thousandth Red Army advance towards Kiev in order to capture the city. In opposition to it, the UPR government mounts 400 people of the available personnel, most of whom are students. Among the militias are also the Savitsky brothers, whose detachment is to enter into an unequal battle with the enemy at the railway station Kruty.
