In the early days of World War II the battalion of Soviet soldiers takes up a position in one of the areas of the eastern frontier. For more than 4 years the main characters have been serving at the lines, where there is no “state of war”, but every moment there is the threat of danger. A lot of courage, endurance and self-discipline are required from the Soviet soldiers in conditions of provocations and subversive acts conducted by Japan militarist.
