The plot of the movie is based on the real story of the friendship of black human rights activist Ann Atwater and C.P. Ellis, who was in the Ku Klux Klan. Being enemies, they could not bear each other, however, having appeared in one committee on the decision of racial separation in schools, they had to unite for the future of their children.
