The film tells the story of Hypatia – the world's first woman-astronomer, mathematician and philosopher. This distinguished woman with charming looks lived in Egypt in the V century BC and was an eloquent scholar and a wise counselor of Alexandrian rulers. Her dramatic life fell to a period of history when the "peace-loving" Christianity struggled with paganism and, of course, with its most ardent representatives. And Hypatia, as written in the "Life of St. Cyril of Alexandria," unfortunately, "surpassed all the philosophers of the time."
