Having learned of his twin sister's brutal death, Walter leaves the national team in Iowa and returns to his hometown Oregon to support his mother in the grief. When he goes with his mother to therapy, he meets Linda, whose husband was murdered in a shooting incident. Walter is 24 years old and Linda is much older. Her deaf and mute son, Clay, is a little bit younger than Walter, and there are a lot of problems with him. Both Linda and Walter need sincere support. Being in the whirlpool of events and feelings, they become intimate.
