On summer vacation Ben is busy with studying, housework and driving lessons, which he gets from his extreme religious mother. It is not what a seventeen years old guy can dream of, but he has no choice. However, his level life changes when he starts working by the former first lady of British theatre Evie. Full with dignity, vulgar and at the same time childish Evie spends most of her time in the garden. Ben becomes friends with her, though it entails quarrels with his mother. One day Evie invites Ben to the Edinburgh Festival, where she plans to perform. Overcoming his innate conservatism Ben sits behind the wheel. Their further journey resembles two-way street, where Ben and Evie help each other to move forward on their path of life.
