It is a touching story about a foal which was born during warfare from a Red Army officer Trofim’s horse. Despite the chief’s order, he couldn’t kill the innocent creature. After some time, the foal dropped behind the troop, but when it was caught up by the White Army, he threw himself to the river upon the mother’s call. He didn’t have enough forces and began to sink. Then Trofim, forgetting everything, ran to save the foal at the cost of his own life. It is a story telling that there is a place for kindness at any time.
