Ajax went to the semi-finals of the KNVB Cup, having defeated Vitesse 0-3 in an away match. Utrecht became Ajax's future opponent, who also easily coped with ex-champion Go Ahead Eagles. The Amsterdam club left the Europa League, so the team have nothing left to do but to reach the final and win the KNVB Cup.
