World War II. A young lieutenant escorts a train with prisoners. The train is seized by fascists who shoot almost everyone. Only three of them managed to escape – the lieutenant himself, a political prisoner who used to be a general, and a cunning criminal with the nickname Usaty. Despite the event, the lieutenant is trying to take them to the destination.
