Vasiliy is already an old man who lived through a lot of things and saw a lot in his life. He protected the citizens of his village during World War II, he got married here, in his native village, he lost 4 sons, and planted a tree each time after one of them died. And now his native house is to be demolished and he is to move to the city. All his life is connected with this place, and he can’t leave it so easily.
