Bosnia and Herzegovina — San Marino
Bosnia and Herzegovina — San Marino
Kick-off on 07.06.25 16:00.
In the third round of Group H of the World Cup qualifiers, a match between Bosnia and Herzegovina and San Marino will take place at Bilino Polje Stadium in Zenica. The hosts have won both of their opening matches, while the visitors have suffered two losses. Twenty years ago, the teams also faced each other at the same stage of World Cup qualification. The Blue and Yellows claimed a confident 3–0 home win. All three goals were scored by former Fenerbahçe and Rayo Vallecano striker Elvir Bolić. That match also featured the current head coach of the Balkan team, Sergej Barbarez. He captained the team and played 77 minutes. A year later, the former Hamburg forward retired from international football.

In the first round of qualifiers, the hosts defeated Romania in Bucharest. Two days later, the Golden Lilies secured a home victory over Cyprus in Zenica, thanks to a goal and an assist from Kasımpaşa midfielder Haris Hajradinović. Before the start of the World Cup qualifying campaign, the Dragons had gone twelve matches without a win. During this unfortunate stretch, the Blue and Yellows failed to score in six matches and conceded thirty-four goals.
San Marino lost 0–2 to Cyprus in Larnaca, where the hosts registered twenty-six shots, and then suffered a heavy 1–5 defeat to Romania in Serravalle. The team’s only goal of the qualifying campaign so far was scored by midfielder Samuele Zannoni. In their previous twelve away games, the White and Blues lost eleven. The sole exception was a comeback win over Liechtenstein in Vaduz during the Nations League Division D group stage, 3–1.
