In the sixties, twelve-year-old Lukas lives with his father in a small village in the Alps. One day, the boy rescues a baby bird that has fallen out of an eagle's nest and secretly nurses it back home. The young hero is helped in this by the mysterious Danzer, who knows a great deal about fauna. Thus, the boy and the eaglet become true friends.
