The Nazis take on the final phase of the extermination of the Jewish people. They take Jews from the ghetto to the camps for execution. A Polish family hides an abandoned girl, Hanu, but her neighbors demand a ransom for hiding their secret. Soon the girl meets a local outcast who is sensitive to the plight of animals and the beauty of nature.
