A family of illegal immigrants is deported to Ukraine: the unlucky Pamfir, his wife, and her sick daughter from her first marriage. The family must return to Western Europe to continue the girl's treatment. Pamfir needs a large sum of money to get new passports for the family. To make money quickly, Pamfir transports smuggled cigarettes across the Ukrainian-Romanian border. For more physical stamina, Pamfir takes steroids, which are fast-acting and have side effects.
