The film begins in 1977 when Tomasz Beksinski settles into his own apartment. His parents, Zofia and Zdzislaw, live nearby, so they often see their son. Their son's very sensitive and restless character worries Zofia. At the same time, Zdzislaw tries to devote himself entirely to art. After Tomasz's first suicide attempt, the parents are forced to fight not only for their son but also for control of their own lives. When Zdzislaw signs a contract with an art dealer who lives in France and Tomasz begins to work for Polish Radio, it seems that the worst is over. But a series of fateful events await the family.
