Convention on the Rights of the Child (Sign Language)
Convention on the Rights of the Child (Sign Language)
Do you know what rights you have — regardless of any circumstances, just as a child? They are written in complicated adult language in the International Convention on the Rights of the Child, and we, the team of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine, have translated it into simple and understandable language. And we made sure that it was accessible to everyone without exception! Including people with hearing impairments, so we created a version in sign language.
The book will help you, as well as your teachers, parents, or guardians, to learn and better understand the rights of every child. After all, it is impossible to demand or protect what you do not know about.
The Convention on the Rights of the Child is not just a formal document! It is a real guide for the whole world on how to build a future where the rights of every person are respected and protected from birth — throughout childhood, adolescence, youth, and early adulthood. The future of Ukraine also depends on how well you understand your rights and whether the people around you respect them.
This book embodies the spirit of the Convention itself, which protects your rights to education, participation, non-discrimination, and many others. Your awareness of it will help to build a truly inclusive society in Ukraine, where all children — regardless of their social status, opportunities, or abilities, and despite all differences — can thrive.
