In the early nineties, recidivist Gerry Brutecki, who has English and Polish roots, is sent from prison in England to prison in Romania as part of a resocialization program. There, the hero begins working in a hospital where orphans are treated. For local children, this institution seems to be the gates of hell, and the only salvation is to be sold to the West.
