The film takes place in 1991 when the Iron Curtain falls. Journalist Ruth, living in the US, goes to Poland to learn the history of her family and see the places where her father and mother were born and grew up. However, the heroine is accompanied by her father, who does not want to remember the past and tries in every possible way to disrupt the trip.
