The action takes place in the fall of 1941 in Ukraine on the Eastern Front. Several Germans find themselves surrounded, so they have to break through to their soldiers. Along the way, the heroes stay overnight in the village where Russian Germans moved two hundred years ago. However, a conflict arises between the soldiers and the inhabitants, causing a tragedy.
