The action of the movie takes place in the 2010s, when actor Mykola Veresen, playing Tsar Ivan the Terrible, dies during filming. The devils, who were embodied by vampire policemen, thinking that the deceased is an important ruler, try to take him to hell. There are also angels in the movie, played by Hutsul drunkards.
