Founded in 1910, Cadiz did not reach La Liga until 1977. The Andalusian club have been in Spain's first division for more than 12 seasons. For fans, they are known for being the first Spanish football team on the Andalusian coast. The team is also called the "The Yellow Submarine" because it is a city closely associated with the maritime business. Cadiz is one of the largest ports in Spain; football came here with the English sailors in the 19th century. Cadiz are an 8-time champion of the Ramón de Carranza Trophy.
