The Kazakhstan national team enters this round looking to bounce back from its 1-3 loss to Hungary in June. Before that, the hosts had shown consistent form, recording clean-sheet wins over Namibia, 2-0, and Comoros, 1-0. Kazakhstan will need to take control of possession from the opening minutes to dictate the terms at Central Stadium and regain confidence.

The Faroe Islands national team comes into the away match in good form, having recorded a narrow 1-0 victory over Latvia in its most recent Baltic Cup match. The islanders traditionally build their tactics on a solid defensive foundation and strict discipline. The visitors plan to meet their opponents with a compact block, denying Kazakhstan's midfielders space near their own penalty area, while looking for opportunities on quick counterattacks.

The head-to-head history between these opponents includes their recent meeting in November 2025, when the Faroe Islands celebrated a narrow 1-0 victory. The upcoming Nations League match sets up a competitive duel in which the hosts will do everything possible to avenge that defeat and earn important points, while the Faroese players will look to secure another positive result on the road.
