Kick-off on September 28, 2026, at 19:00.

The Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium in Yerevan will host a second-round match of UEFA Nations League Division C: Armenia — Montenegro. The two sides have previously met twice on Armenian soil. In 2018 World Cup qualifying, the hosts secured a hard-fought 3-2 win after trailing 0-2 at halftime. In 2022, the Armenian team again won at home by a narrow 1-0 margin. Over the past three years, the hosts have recorded only two wins in official home matches. The Montenegrin players ended a nine-match away losing streak last autumn.

In the year and a half before the start of the current Nations League, the Armenian national team played thirteen matches, suffering nine defeats. In that stretch, the team recorded its only win on home soil, beating Ireland 2-1. In addition, the Armenian side has now conceded in forty consecutive matches. This negative trend began back in the second-to-last edition of the tournament — following a home win over that same Ireland side.

Since autumn 2022, Montenegro's national team has kept a clean sheet in only two away matches, both of them against Bulgaria. In seven of their previous ten away matches, the Montenegrins failed to score at all. At the same time, in six of their last seven games, the team has scored two goals. In their two previous Nations League campaigns, the Montenegrin players suffered five defeats, and their only successful away match in that period was a 3-0 win over Romania. Prior to this summer, the national team had also gone eleven consecutive away friendlies without a win.
