Strawberry Arena in Solna will host a second-round Division B UEFA Nations League match: Sweden vs Poland. The two sides first met on Swedish soil back in 1922. Since then, the teams have played 15 head-to-head matches in Northern Europe, 11 of which were friendlies. The hosts have won eleven times, while the visitors have won only twice, with Poland's last away success against Sweden dating back to 1930, 3-0. In March, the two sides met at this same venue in the final round of World Cup qualifying. Despite Poland's dominance, Sweden made more effective use of its chances and won 3-2.

In the previous Nations League cycle, Sweden played in Division C and dropped points only in an away match against Slovakia, 2-2. In that campaign, forward Viktor Gyökeres was directly involved in fourteen of the team's nineteen goal-scoring build-ups. Coming into the current tournament, Graham Potter's side has picked up only one win in its previous five home matches — precisely in that March match against Poland.

Poland's national team dropped down a division after a disappointing campaign in elite Division A, where it picked up four points and conceded sixteen goals. In its last ten away matches, Poland has failed to score only against Croatia and Wales. Over that same period, the Polish side has kept a clean sheet only twice.
