The Portuguese region of Algarve hosts cyclists every year on its roads as part of the Volta Algarve multi-day race. Despite a coronavirus outbreak, the tournament took place in 2020, with Belgian Remco Evenepoel taking first place. In 2021, the championship will be held for the forty-eighth time, counting from the first race in 1960.
