During the battles of World War II, children were evacuated and people were resettled to other places with whole cities. Panas Petrovich, who served on the front, also lost his son. After years went by, he learns that there is a chance that his child survived. After learning some information, he reveals the place where saved children live now. Panas Petrovich goes to different parts of the country in see the ones who can turn out to be his offspring.
