Lyashenko came down almost to the very bottom. He has just gone out of the prison, but couldn’t help stealing money and documents from a passing pedestrian on a railway station. From the passport, he learnt that the aggrieved man was his childhood friend. Tormented by consciousness, he finds the friend to give him the things he stole. But he, unlike the hero, got to a high and is happy with his life. The men sit down to talk about the years which went by, trying to understand why their life ways became so separated.
