“Chichikov by Nozdryov” of Gogol’s “Dead Souls”. Pavel Chichikov is at a table in a roadside inn. There he meets his friend Nozdryov and they go to his place. Chichikov asks Nozdryov to give him dead peasants, who were not yet removed from the register, in order to record them to his collection.
