An investigative journalist Mikael Blomkvist received an offer from one of the Swedish magnates Henrik Vanger to look into the case of his missing (murdered) niece, who disappeared 40 years ago on his family’s island. The case remains unsolved and it has been haunting Henrik’s mind. He knows that one of his relatives is involved in the disappearance of his niece. Vanger provides Mikael with the complete dossier on all members of his extended family. Blomkvist realizes that interfering in family’s dark secrets can be dangerous but tempted but the fee he gets down to business.
