The 2024 documentary Emperor: The Rise & Fall of a Dynasty is dedicated to the rulers of Ancient Rome. It all begins with the assassination of Julius Caesar, which led to chaos in the state. However, this event elevated one of the most scandalous and infamous dynasties in world history. For the next hundred years, the perverse, incest-prone family does not stop striving for power.

In particular, the dynasty of Livia Drusilla changed the course of history when it ended during the struggle for power. The film tells her story through the eyes of five famous and power-hungry emperors — Caligula, Tiberius, Augustus, Nero, and Claudius. Each of these rulers was at the epicenter of a brutal struggle for dominance. They were driven by primitive urges for violence and sex.

The production of the project Emperor: The Rise & Fall of a Dynasty, which was first released in the UK on November 23, 2024, was carried out by October Films. The production was handled by Bob Marsden, known, in particular, for his participation in the creation of the show Panorama, which won five BAFTA awards. The cinematography was performed by Jacob Sachs Jones, who worked on the film Into a Cold Dark Night, which was nominated for an Emmy and an award from the Georgia Film Critics Association.

The music was handled by Marc Doggett, who was awarded a Gold Award, which he received at the Independent Short Film Awards event. The narrator was Siân Phillips, who is best known to the audience for her role in the mini-series I, Claudius, which brought her a BAFTA.
