An English writer named James arrives in a small town in Tuscany to present his book on originals and copies in art. At the event, he meets a French woman who owns an antique shop. Together, they go for a walk through the surrounding countryside. At first, it seems they barely know each other, but their conversations gradually grow deeper. People around them begin to mistake them for a couple, and unexpectedly, they seem to embrace that role.
