The 2025 historical documentary series From the Ashes of WWII tells the story of how historic, monumental, and majestic buildings across the world were completely destroyed during the war. Cities were wiped off the map or burned down. However, through restructuring, redesign, and rebuilding, new cities emerged in the post-war world.

The series presents the history of cities that were bombed, damaged, or obliterated during wartime, but managed to rise from the ashes. It particularly highlights Japan’s stages of reconstruction after experiencing unprecedented destruction. Germany faced the daunting task of rebuilding, but eventually, new architecture paved the way for its revival.

From the Ashes of WWII was produced by ThinkFrame Media, a comprehensive corporate video production company. The narrator is Kevin Spink, known to audiences for his roles in The Man and the Cat, 13 Lives, and Celeste. He has received the Los Angeles Film Award and a Global Shorts nomination for his role in the short drama Emma.

Joanna Lise, known for her work on the 2024 British series David & Jay’s Touring Toolset, also contributed to the project. Samuel Baker, recognized for his work on Being Better: The Robbie Williams Story—a film with over ten awards and an Oscar nomination—was also involved.
