During the Japanese colonial era, about 400 Koreans find themselves held captive on Hashima Island. This place is also known as Gunkanjima or Battleship Island. People are forced to mine coal in subhuman conditions under strict supervision. A group of prisoners decides on a desperate step and plans a massive escape. Risking their lives, they strive to break free through deadly obstacles. The movie tells a story of heroism and the struggle for survival during one of history's darkest periods.
