The story is set in Paris in 1899, where Céleste, a can-can dancer in a cabaret, is searching for her missing sister and brother. To pay for the services of the inspector handling their search, the girl takes a desperate step. Overcoming societal taboos and shame, she steps onto the stage completely naked, becoming the first striptease dancer in the French capital.
