Screen adaptation of the autobiographical novel by Gorky, the second part of the famous writer’s autobiographical trilogy. Alyosha Peshkov leaves grandfather’s the house and goes working. He works as a valet for his uncle-draftsman, a dishwasher on a Volga steamer, a student in the icon painting workshop. Good, not cruel boy could not bear the injustice around, that’s why he is bravely fighting for truth and stays again without shelter and food.
